Millions of Afghans live far from their families — in Europe, North America, Australia, and beyond. The distance is hard. Missing birthdays, Eids, weddings, and simple everyday moments with the families and friends who matter most.

Tohfa was built to close that gap. We’re a team of young Afghans in Kabul who believe that a gift delivered with care can carry the weight of a thousand words. When your mother opens a box of sweets on Eid, or your father receives a warm meal at his door — they know you’re thinking of them.

Every order is prepared and delivered by our local team in Kabul. We source from trusted bakeries, restaurants, florists, and gift suppliers — and keep you updated every step of the way, from the moment we confirm the order until it’s in your loved one’s hands.

Frequently asked

How long does delivery take?+
Standard delivery is next-day. Same-day express is available for most items if ordered before 3 PM Kabul time. Food orders deliver within 2-4 hours.
What cities do you deliver to?+
Currently we deliver to Kabul. Herat, Mazar-i-Sharif, Kandahar and more cities coming soon.
How do I know the gift was delivered?+
We send you a WhatsApp or email confirmation the moment it’s delivered. You can also track status live from the order page.
Can I add a cash gift?+
Yes! You can add a cash gift (AFN or USD) to any order. It’s delivered in an envelope alongside your physical gift.
What payment methods do you accept?+
Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, and Google Pay via Stripe secure checkout.
Can I send a gift to a specific district of Kabul?+
Yes — every district of Kabul. Just add the recipient’s full address (district number, neighbourhood, landmark) at checkout. Our courier will call them before arrival.
What happens if the recipient isn’t home?+
Our courier calls before arriving. If no one is home, we reschedule for later the same day or the next morning at no extra cost — your gift is never left at the door.
Can I customize a cake design?+
Yes. Pick a custom cake on the menu and use the "Cake Details" field to describe flavour, layers, writing, and theme. For a reference photo, place the order first then WhatsApp us the image — we’ll confirm before baking. Custom cakes need 12 hours lead time.
Can I send anonymously?+
Yes. Leave the "from" name blank in the personal message and the courier will only confirm the gift is from a friend or family member abroad. We still need your contact details for order updates, but they’re never shared with the recipient.
Do you handle Eid and Nowruz orders?+
Yes — these are some of our busiest weeks. Eid and Nowruz add-ons (greeting cards, themed wrapping, seasonal sweets) appear on the storefront in the run-up. Order at least 48 hours ahead during these windows to be safe.
What’s the maximum cash gift I can send?+
Currently capped at $200 USD or 2,500 AFN per order. We can handle larger amounts through a custom request — message us on WhatsApp first.
Can I cancel or change my order?+
Yes — until we mark the order as "Preparing". After that, the bakery / kitchen has started work and we can’t refund. Message us on WhatsApp with your order number to cancel or change.
How do you protect my payment information?+
We use Stripe for checkout. Your card number never touches our servers — Stripe holds it in their PCI-DSS-certified vault and only sends us a one-time token to confirm the charge. We can’t see, store, or replay your card details.
Where is the Tohfa team based?+
In Kabul. We’re young Afghans on the ground here — we source from the bakeries and florists ourselves, hand-deliver every order, and answer WhatsApp messages from the same neighbourhood your gift will arrive at.
What if my order arrives damaged or wrong?+
Send us a WhatsApp message with your order number and a photo within 24 hours. If it’s our mistake — wrong item, damaged on delivery, anything not as described — we’ll redo the order or refund in full. Hand-delivery by our local team is part of why this is rare.
